League Rules

1. League Structure

  • Each team must register a squad with a minimum of 15 players.
  • Points System:
    • Win: 2 points
    • Tie/No Result: 1 point
    • Loss: 0 points
  • A player may only play for one club during the season. As an exception, players born in Slovenia can play for other teams when their own clubs are not playing.

2. Match Rules

  • All matches will be played in the T20 format.
  • A team must have at least 7 players to be considered valid and eligible to play a match.
  • Only colored clothing is allowed for all matches.
  • Only a white ball is allowed for use in all matches.
  • Fielding team will switch sides to bowl from the opposite end after every over.
  • Unless there is significant damage to a ball, the same ball will be used for the entire inning.

3. Conduct and Fair Play

  • All players and officials must adhere to the ICC Code of Conduct.
  • Any breaches of conduct will be handled by the SCA in accordance with ICC rules and regulations.
  • Neutral umpires will be provided from the pool of the SCA umpiring panel.
  • All batters must wear a helmet for protection.
  • There will be zero tolerance to any form of indiscipline that disrupts the spirit of the game. Both player and club will be penalized if rules are not adhered to.

4. League Administration

  • All matches will be held at the cricket ground in Valburga.
  • Match Schedule:
    • Morning Matches: Start at 10:00, with the coin toss at 09:15.
    • Afternoon Matches: Start at 14:00, with the coin toss at 13:15.
  • Rain:
    • Teams and match officials must show up on the ground at the time of toss, even if it’s raining.
    • In case of rain during an ongoing match, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method will be applied.
    • If at least 5 overs can be completed for both innings, the game can be decided on DLS.
    • If a group stage match can’t be completed due to rain even with DLS, both teams will share 1 point each.
    • Only knockout matches that can’t be completed due to rain, will be replayed on the dedicated reserve day.
    • A reserved day knockout match will NOT resume from previous day. It will be a fresh full match start.
    • If a knockout match on reserve day also can’t be completed due to rain, the team with the higher group stage ranking, will be awarded the winner.

5. Scoring and Technology

  • Every match must be scored digitally using the CricClubs app. Team captains are responsible to ensure that enough players have the CricClubs app installed on their devices to facilitate the transfer of scoring if needed (e.g., if the primary scoring device runs out of battery).

6. Dispute Resolution

  • Any protests must be submitted in writing to the SCA Disciplinary Committee within 24 hours of the match in question.
  • The SCA Disciplinary Committee will have the final say in all disputes.
